There's a lot to learn from Virat and MS: Hardik Pandya

INDIA'S ALL-ROUNDER Hardik Pandya has conceded that there is a lot to learn from the batting of Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni. Talking about the Dhoni and Virat's swift running between the wickets, Pandya termed the duo to be at a ‘different level’. The Gujarat-lad feels that it is a great learning curve to play alongside these stalwarts.

As reported by PTI, Pandya said,

"There's a lot to learn when both (Kohli and Dhoni) of them bat. Their batting, running between wickets inspire us. It's at another level. It's fun to watch them bat together."

During India’s third ODI against New Zealand at Mohali, Dhoni batted up the order to combine a spectacular 151-run partnership with Kohli, to regain the series lead with a seven-wicket win. While Kohli amassed an unbeaten 154, Dhoni struck a magnificent 80 before getting dismissed by Kiwi pacer Matt Henry.

Referring to the Mohali ODI, Pandya said that Dhoni’s performance at No.4 gives confidence to the lower-order batsmen.

"It shows positive intent. I enjoyed his (Dhoni) batting. As batsman, whatever number I bat at, we should play according to situation. It's a job for everyone. It gives us confidence for someone who bats lower down the order. It's pretty good."

Pandya, who had earned the Man of the match for picking three crucial wickets in the first ODI, asserted that he is ready for all the challenges that the game has to offer.

"I'm pretty ready for everything, whatever overs I get. I am putting the same effort but I've worked a bit more on my fitness. I'm stronger now."
