FIFA U-17 World Cup to be held from Oct 6-28 next year
EVERYONE IN INDIA were excited since the time it was announced that the country will host FIFA Under-17 World Cup and finally now the match dates are out.
It will be held from October 6-28th next year over six venues across India. The dates were announced at the press conference held in Kolkata after the Salt Lake Stadium was announced as the last approved venue for the tournament. The iconic arena will probably host the grand finale of the competition.
The other five cities that will host the event include, Mumbai, Kochi, Goa, New Delhi and Guwahati.
"We are very happy with the work done in spite of few constraints. Regarding whether Kolkata can host the final, it will be decided only after a review of the venues following completion of all the works that need to be done," said the tournament director Javier Ceppi.
