Play-by-Play: KBFC come back from behind to clinch a spectacular 1-2 victory against FC Goa

SPECTACULAR GOALS made the contest between FC Goa and Kerala Blasters come alive at Fatorda tonight, with visitors KBFC coming back from behind to claim a hard-fought 1-2 victory.

From the start of the game it was Kerala Blasters keeping more of the ball and looking more composed. They also created a couple of chances and looked more likely to score first. But against the run of play, a powerful header from Julio Cesar went straight into the net, giving the home team a surprise lead.

The first half ended with Goa ahead but within 20 seconds of the resumption of play, a brilliant cross from Mohammed Rafique took a touch from keeper Subhashish and hit an oncoming Mohammed Rafi, who almost involuntarily sent it into the goal. Suddenly Kerala Blasters were level and an exciting contest was on.

The contest went on with both teams squandering a chance or two, but it was KBFC who had the final laugh. With just a few minutes to spare in the game, Belfort got hold of the ball and sent a powerful long ranger that completely beat the keeper. It was a sucker punch that Goa could not recover from, and ensured a win for Kerala Blasters.

This loss means FC Goa have slid further into the bottom of the table with just 4 points from 6 games, while Kerala Blasters have staged a turnaround of sorts, winning 2 of the last 3 games and ascending to the 3rd spot in the table with 8 points from 6 matches.

Here's how the contest unfolded, narrated through our blow-by-blow updates of the game...
