Thierry Henry to witness ISL encounter between ATK and MCFC at Kolkata on October 25

FORMER FRENCH forward and Arsenal legend Thierry Henry is set to get a taste of ISL in the encounter between Atletico de Kolkata (ATK) and Mumbai City FC (MCFC) on October 25. Henry will be present at the Rabindra Sarobar stadium, Kolkata to witness the live action from the stands.

It is learnt that the French top-goal scorer will be visiting Kolkata on October 25 to carry out a promotional activity for Puma. The former Barcelona striker, who will be visiting India in relation to his ties with Puma, will head to Mumbai to interact with his fans and to share tips with football aspirants. In an interaction with TOI, managing director of Puma India, Abhishek Ganguly, confirmed the news as he stated,   

"We are extremely excited to get Thierry Henry to India for the first time and give his fans the opportunity to see him from close quarters. We know that his popularity in the football fraternity is unmatched." 

Henry, who achieved a historic treble with Barcelona in 2009, announced his retirement from professional football with MLS club New York Red Bulls in 2014. During his stint with the American club, Henry once made a famed move to his former English club, Arsenal. The 39-year-old is currently the assistant manager of Belgium’s national team.
