Play-by-Play: Late penalty saves FC Goa from a fourth straight loss as they hold ATK 1-1

A PENALTY GOAL by Joffre ensured that FC Goa did not lose their fourth straight match and held Atletico de Kolkata to a 1-1 draw at Rabindra Sarobar Stadium.

ATK took the lead early on, 6 minutes into the game when Sameehg Doutie kicked home a close-ranger from a corner. FC Goa followed that up with a period of pressure but failed to convert. ATK were fairly attacking too, with East Bengal striker Abinash Ruidas, playing in the left wings, especially catching the eye.

Early in the second half Stephen Pearson of ATK got red carded for a foul on Dumas. Later in the game Sanjay Balmuchu of FC Goa also got sent off for a nasty tackle on Prabir Das. With both teams down to 10 men, an attacking game unfolded, and soon resulted in a handball penalty decison going Goa's way which Joffre duly converted. The match ended 1-1.

This is FC Goa's very first point after losing back to back 3 matches. They are still bottom of the table. ATK, meanwhile, are now 3rd with 6 points from 4 games.

Here's how the entire match unfolded, in blow-by-blow real time detail...
