Indian stalwarts ready for Korea Open Superseries challenge

QUARTER-FINALIST at the Japan Open SS, Kidambi Srikanth is all set to up his performance at the Korea Open Superseries beginning tomorrow.

Seeded 8th, he will begin his campaign against Wong Wing Ki Vincent of Hong Kong.

"It is a good draw. I just hope to play well," Srikanth said to PTI.

Accompanying Srikanth are other Indian shuttlers HS Prannoy who will play his first round match against Wang Tzu Wei.

"I played well in Japan. Also against Victor the quality of the game was very good. I was leading 19-18 in second and though I lost, I felt I was playing much better. So hope to do well," said Prannoy.

Parupalli Kashyap will have to win his qualifiers to enter the main draw. He will play Malaysia's Goh Soon Huat.

While World No. 18 Ajay Jayaram who retired hurt at the Japan Open against Srikanth due to knee injury is fit and will be in action in Korea. He will take on Korea's Jeon Hyeok Jin in round one. Sai Praneeth will be up against Chinese Taipei shuttler in Hsu Jen Hao.

In the women's singles category, Tanvi Lad is the lone shuttler and will face Denmark's Anna Thea Madsen.
