TIME MATTERS: ICC confirms tweaking Ind vs WI second T20 match timing

THE INTERNATIONAL CRICKET COUNCIL (ICC) has stated that the India vs West Indies second T20 match at Lauderhill, USA had witnessed a change in its match timings following consultations with both the teams.

After an initial delay of 40-minutes, rain stopped India’s innings and eventually forced the match to be abandoned. As a result, India suffered a 1-0 defeat to the Windies.

As reported by cricbuzz, an ICC official confirmed that it was not their call to make changes in match timings.

“Taking into account the strategic considerations behind the staging of the two international matches in Florida, the match officials, on the request of the two competing Members, agreed to tweak the playing hours to allow the host broadcaster to overcome the technical difficulties.”

However, the BCCI and the WICB are yet to any make a comment regarding the issue.
