TFG SmackDown Live Review: Wardrobe Malfunctions and Transitions

The latest edition of SmackDown rolled out this Tuesday and it apparently followed the exact same formula that WWE used last time around. Eva Marie escaping from her match is seemingly her new gimmick right now while Dean Ambrose is showing shades of transition ahead of his SummerSlam showdown with Dolph Ziggler.

Eva Marie piling up heat

Eva Marie’s wrestling debut is something that everyone wants to see. Ever since she was drafted to SmackDown, Eva has been a controversial character. Last week, she faked a leg injury to escape from her match and this time around, it was a faked Wardrobe malfunction that came to her rescue. This gimmick is bound to pile up the heat on Eva as she moves forward and WWE could easily build her up as the top heel in their Women’s division. All Eva has to do now is back it up with some good in-ring work.

Ambrose showing signs of transition

Ambrose is the reigning WWE champion and this is causing a transition in his character. He is showing shades of grey as we move towards his SummerSlam match and this was evident this week as well. Ambrose laid out Ziggler after their match against Bray Wyatt and Eric Rowan. Though it was typical booking from WWE to book a tag team match on SmackDown, it was well executed.

Here are the complete results from SmackDown:

  • American Alpha def. Mike Vega and Mikey O’Shea
  • Becky Lynch vs. Eva Marie gets canceled due to Eva’s Wardrobe malfunction
  • Alexa Bliss def. Becky Lynch
  • Randy Orton def. Alberto Del Rio via DQ
  • Rhyno def. Heath Slater
  • Carmella def. Natalya
  • Dean Ambrose and Dolph Ziggler def. Bray Wyatt and Erick Rowan
