East Bengal's Prahlad Roy hospitalized with severe cramps and breathing difficulty
EAST BENGAL WINGER Prohlad Roy suffered a serious ailment at the residential pre-season camp of the club's first team at Kalyani yesterday.
During practice he felt severe cramps all over his body and was unable to continue with his regimen. Soon the situation worsened and he experienced difficulties in breathing. He was rushed to the hospital and was admitted in the ICU.
The symptoms he displayed could be attributed to severe dehydration but it seems the intensity of the suffering was way above normal, prompting emergency care from the doctor. Prohlad's condition since then has stabilized, but the path to recovery may be quite long, and he may miss the start of the Calcutta Football League which kicks off later this month.
