UFC 200 Results: A tale of upsets and returns

UFC 200 was being promoted as the biggest, baddest fight card ever. Did it turn out to be that? Well, it maybe a matter of perspective as the matchups definitely were terrific and both the prelims delivered huge on the promise with some exciting fights and great finishes. But of the 5 bouts on the main card, 3 went to decision and there were some intermittent but loud booing from the fans in attendance.

Lesnar made history at UFC 200

However, the main event pretty much capped off all the excitement in the air as Amanda Nunes was crowned new women’s bantamweight champion after decimating Miesha Tate in the first round of their five-round affair. Brock Lesnar did his part in showing up and actually winning over Mark Hunt, in a non-crowd pleasing decision.

Elsewhere Jose Aldo claimed the interim Featherweight title with a skillful decision win over a game Frankie Edgar, while last minute replacement Anderson Silva made it to the distance with Light Heavyweight champ Daniel Cormier whose stablemate Cain Velasquez blitzed through Travis Browne in the main-card opener.
