Jasvir Singh’s dying minute heroics help Jaipur Pink Panthers draw level with Bengaluru Bulls 28-28

JASVIR SINGH produced a phenomenal performance in the dying minutes of the match to help Jaipur Pink Panthers draw level with Bengaluru Bulls at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur. The Game 10 of the fourth edition of PKL ended in a nail biting 28-28 as both team played out a second draw of the season.

Bulls started off on the right foot, picking two points in the initial minute of the game after sending Jasvir Singh to the bench. Singh returned in the fifth minute only to pick a point in a do-or-die raid. Vinod Kumar remained the most successful raider for the Bulls, picking two points in the 15th minute and giving the visitors a 10-7 lead. 

Former U Mumba defensive leaders Surender Nada and Mohit Chillar combined to obtain an all-out on the Panthers in the 16th minute to produce a 5 point lead at 14-9. Shabeer Baapu had an uncharacteristic outing, making five empty raids in the first half. The first half concluded with the Bulls leading the Panthers with a narrow three point lead 14-11.

The Bengaluru franchise got the ball rolling in the second half by making two successful tackles in two minutes, maintaining the five point lead at 16-11. Jasvir spend 11 minutes off the court and the Bulls made his absence count. Five minutes into the second half, the visitors led 17-12. 

Bulls inflicted a second all-out in the sixth minute of the second half, extending the lead to nine points, 23-12. Successful raids from Rajesh Narwal and Jasvir Singh saw the home side reducing the deficit to 24-21 with eight minutes left on the clock. With less than a minute to go, Panthers trailed 28-26

In the 39th minute, Jasvir Singh conjured up a successful raid in a blink of an eye to reduce the deficit to one point pushing Bulls’ star raider Rohit Kumar for a do-or-die raid in the last seven seconds of the match. Panthers’ defense pounced on Rohit Kumar, who had picked six touch points in the game, to tie the match and climb to third position on the points table.
