Kashyap knocked out in the second round at WBC

PARUPALLI KASHYAP, seeded 10th was knocked out by unseeded Vietnamese Tien Minh Nguyen at the World Badminton Championship in a thrilling three sets 17-21, 21-13, 21-18, at the 9000-seater Istora Senayan, a match that stretched for an hour and five minutes. 

Kashyap who was confident going to into this series after a good rest but failed to go beyond the second round. He was one of those who was hopeful of winning a medal at the championship.

In 2011 world championships Kashyap played against the same opponent and the result was the same too. In the third set played then, when Kashyap just needed a point to win, the Vietnamese fought back to win the game 22-20.

In 2015, the match went on for three sets; nothing changed for Kashyap in four years except that he wasn't leading in the third set.
