Australia SS: Sindhu & Srikanth return to court, Saina still in pursuit of her first title this year

NEXT CHALLENGE lined up for the shuttlers is Australian Super Series which begins tomorrow with qualifying rounds.

Women's singles and men's singles shuttler PV Sindhu and Kidambi Srikanth are set to make a comeback to the court after missing out on the Indonesia Super Series Premier.

Meanwhile there will be no Jwala Gutta/Ashwini Ponnappa and Manu Attri/Sumeeth Reddy in the women's and men's doubles category. Nikhar Garg/Anilkumar Raju will represent the men's doubles category and they face eighth seeds Malaysians Shem Goh/Wee Kiong Tan in round one.

Sindhu will take on Korean Kim Hyo Min in the first round. Along with her, other Indian shuttlers in the women's category include Saina Nehwal, she is seeded seventh and will face Joy Lai of Australia. She had won this title in 2014 and is yet to win the first title this year.

Joining these two will also be Tanvi Lad and her opponent is yet to be decided.

Srikanth will take on Ng Ka Long Angus of Hong Kong and youngster Sameer Verma will take on Indonesian Ihsan Maulana Mustofa in round one.

Ajay Jayaram and HS Prannoy had decided to skip the tournament owing to inconsistent performance and injury. Parupalli Kashyap is too on rest after undergoing knee surgery and is slowly recovering.

No Indian participation in the women's and mixed doubles categories.
