Attri/ Reddy & Jwala/Ashwini begin on a winning note at Indonesia SSP
MEN'S DOUBLES SHUTTLERS Manu Attri/Buss Sumeeth Reddy began their campaign at Indonesia Super Series Premier on a winning note. A comfortable victory for the Indian pair as they defeated Peter Gabriel Magnaye/Alvin Morada in straight games 21-13, 21-16.
In both the games, Attri/Reddy were dominant and did not give away any silly points that could cost them the match. This performance should give them a boost and perform better.
In the second round, they face sixth seeds Korean pair Ko Sung Hyun/Shin Baek Cheol.
It was good news from the women's doubles category too as Jwala Gutta/Ashwini Ponnappa survived a three game match against Febriana/Ribka 21-7, 20-22, 21-10. They next face Chinese pair Huang/Tang in round two.
Meanwhile, men's singles shuttler Sameer Verma suffered a straight games defeat at the hands of the mighty Lee Chong Wei 21-11, 21-13.
