Kohli’s IPL record faces threat from Raina today at Green Park

ROYAL CHALLENGERS BANGALORE skipper Virat Kohli, who scored his fourth IPL ton against Kings XI to become the highest run-getter in the tournament may lose his top spot to Gujarat Lions captain Suresh Raina.

Kohli, who overcame several stitches on his hand to score 113 against KXIP surpassed Raina and snatched his number one rank, crossing the 4000-run mark. However, the southpaw needs to add merely 17-runs to his 3965 total to regain the top spot.

Comparing the ongoing season’s batting stats though, having managed just 286-runs from 11 games, Raina trails behind the India Test skipper by 579 runs.

The 29-year old will look to get past Kohli’s record at the Green Park stadium today as Gujarat will lock horns against Kolkata Knight Riders.
