Won't be easy to beat Sporting Clube de Goa, says Aizawl FC coach Jahar Das

AIZAWL FC HEAD COACH Jahar Das, who had entered the Federation Cup quarter finals with an explosive forewarning, sounded much more cautious about facing Sporting Clube de Goa in the semi-finals.

Speaking to the press before the first leg encounter at Aizawl, Das said,

"It's a game. We play our game and they play theirs. The game will be difficult without doubt, prediction at this early is difficult."

The coach said that although the win against Mohun Bagan was momentous, maintaining that level of performance was going to be a challenge,

"There are always good days or bad days. We are fighting hard to repeat this performance, and it's very difficult. So we're cautious... Sporting are a good side and they gave us a tough fight in the league, no doubt about it."

Das, who is a former Mohun Bagan coach himself, said that beating the Green and Maroons in the I-League was a better experience than winning against the champions at the Fed Cup quarter finals,

"Beating Mohun Bagan was a new experience. Beating Bengaluru, not so much. Because by name and tradition Mohun Bagan is much better. So frankly speaking beating them was more pleasure than Bengaluru. Winning against Bengaluru is not enough, we have to reach the final."

Praising his opponent coach Mateus Costa, Das said that the road to final for Aizawl FC was not going to be easy,

"Mateus definitely has what it takes to win the Federation Cup. I think he has even won that once. So it's going to be a tough competition. They have a few players who play really well."
