Huge blow for Kings XI Punjab as Shaun Marsh bows out of IPL with a back injury

KINGS XI PUNJAB opener Shaun Marsh has been ruled out of the remainder of the tournament with a back injury he picked up during his side's six-wicket loss to Kolkata Knight Riders on 19th April. The southpaw is Australia’s third player to be heading home after brother Mitch Marsh and skipper Steve Smith.

Shaun who had missed the opening match due to food poisoning managed to score 159 runs in six games. His top score came against the Knight Riders, where he scored 56* off 41 balls.

The Aussie batsman’s absence is a huge blow for the struggling Punjab franchise, who lie at the bottom of the points table despite impressively beating table leaders Gujarat Lions in yesterday's encounter.
