Saina Nehwal ousted by Wang Yihan in the semis of BAC

SAINA NEHWAL'S winning run came to an end after she lost her semi-final match at the Badminton Asia Championships held in Wuhan, China. Seeded fifth, the Indian shuttler succumbed to defeat at the hands of the sixth seed Chinese Wang Yihan in straight games 16-21, 14-21. 

Wang extended the head-to-head count 11-4 after this victory. Saina was the only Indian shuttler to go beyond the quarter-finals of this tournament.

Defeating Wang Shixian in the quarters yesterday gave her the confidence but she couldn't convert it into a victory in the semis. With the Indians bowing out of this tournament, their qualification rounds for Rio Olympics has come to end.
