Bumrah divulges the secret behind his accurate yorkers

MUMBAI INDIANS bowler Jasprit Bumrah divulged the secret behind his successful and accurate yorkers. The strength of the seamer is his ability to bowl well at the death. The speedster, who has bagged eight wickets in 7 matches, said playing with the tennis ball in the formative years helped him bowl yorkers with good control.

As reported by dna, the youngster said,

"With only one ball you cannot be successful. I try to mix my pace and try to use yorkers. I used to play tennis ball cricket quite a lot before playing serious cricket. Over there you bowl yorkers. That could be the reason I bowl yorkers. But it's difficult to bowl and I have to practice continuously."

The 22-year-old expressed his delight of training under bowling coach Shane Bond.

"It is different for different batsman. Some are good at facing yorkers, some with the slow ball. So we have meetings with the bowlers and the coaches. I have learnt a lot from Shane Bond (bowling coach). We make plans. He's a very experienced bowler and helps me in deciding what to do and not to do in certain situations. We have plans for batsmen wherever we go, we see videos and that's how we plan. I have my ideas to discuss with him. We sit down together and then make a final call."

Bumrah who grabbed eyeballs during India’s tour of Australia early this year, said that he had learnt a lot on the tour.

"From the Australia tour I learned a lot, and from Sri Lanka (tour) and Asia Cup (in Bangladesh) too. I have learnt a lot from the Indian team. Many senior players were there with me. I look to learn from everyone. In T20 format I have played many international games and am trying to carry it into IPL."
