Not thinking about comeback, focused on doing well for KKR, says Gautam Gambhir

KOLKATA KNIGHT RIDERS captain Gautam Gambhir does not want to look too far ahead as he believes “comebacks are only by-products” of good performances. The left-handed batsman is the leading run-getter for his side with 237 runs in five games played so far.

As reported by PTI, the 34-year-old said,

“At the moment, it’s about IPL and I am concentrating on getting runs and help KKR win. All the rest, comebacks or no comebacks, are only by-products.”

The KKR opener further elaborated upon how he looks at his role as a skipper and how he prefers to play his cricket.

“My primary job is to score runs and make KKR win and that’s what I am trying to do. Rest, I don’t think too much. That’s how I have always played my game. When I play for Delhi in Ranji Trophy, I try to help Delhi win and when I play IPL for KKR, I aim to make KKR win.”

The KKR skipper further appreciated the contribution from teammates Sunil Narine and Suryakumar Yadav.

Ahead of their match against the Mumbai Indians tonight at the Wankhede stadium, the skipper said that his side has an equally good attack to restrict Rohit and his men.
