Tim Southee optimistic about MI's chances after poor start in IPL-9

MUMBAI INDIANS fast bowler Tim Southee said that the defending champs need to overlook the negatives and focus on the positives for the remaining matches in the Indian Premier League after yet another poor start in the tournament.

By losing to the Sunrisers Hyderabad last night, MI suffered their third loss out of four games in the tournament.

As reported by PTI, Southee said,

"It's a team effort. It's a long tournament. I think we cannot get too down. I think we leave that (the losses) and look forward to the next game."

"You cannot sort of hang on to performances that have gone otherwise. You got to learn and push the side in the course to the next one."

Southee, who gets the ball to come back into the left-hander, bowled a peach to dismiss Shikhar Dhawan and then swung one outside to get Moises Henriques' edge in yesterday's fixture.

He also picked up Eoin Morgan, thanks to a brilliant catch in the deep by Hardik Pandya to end with figures of 3/24 in his four overs.

Going ahead, Southee will be a key figure with the new ball. That said, the Kiwi will look for some more contribution from his colleagues with the bat.
