MI pacer Malinga out of IPL 2016, could be sidelined for four months

SRI LANKAN PACER LASITH MALINGA has been ruled out of the 2016 IPL due to his ongoing problems with his knee. Ever since slinga-Malinga injured himself in the Asia Cup T20, his participation in the IPL was always in doubt.

The Lankan superstar arrived in Mumbai a few days back with the hope of playing for the Mumbai Indians. However, the MI management declared him unfit to play in the tournament. As per reports, Malinga is likely to be sidelined for another four months.

As reported by cricinfo, a release said,

“Mr. Malinga will present himself before the SLC panel of expert doctors on Wednesday (April 20) and depending on the outcome of the said medical examinations, be required to face a match fitness grading, after which SLC will take the next appropriate steps.”

The Mumbai team is yet to make an announcement regarding the replacement for Malinga and it will be interesting to see who will slot into his spot going ahead.
