Organising the IPL is a gigantic work, not easy to shift matches out of Maharashtra, says IPL Chairman Shukla

THE TWO IPL FRANCHISES, Mumbai Indians and Rising Pune Supergiants have been caught in a tight spot after all the hue and cry, following the Bombay High Court order to BCCI to move the IPL matches to be held after 30th April, outside Maharashtra. 

IPL Chairman, Rajiv Shukla told India Today,

"Organising the IPL is a gigantic work. It's not easy. All preparations had been done, completed. Now shifting the matches will be a problem." 

Maharashtra which is home to debutants Rising Pune Supergiants and defending champions Mumbai Indians were scheduled to host 13 games after April 30, including the IPL final at Wankhede stadium.

IPL Chairman tweeted saying the two teams from Maharashtra are on a sticky wicket and are looking for alternative solutions. 

 

The 56 old showed willingness to contribute to CM’s fund and also questioned the absence of public uproar when Nagpur held 9 matches during the WCT20. 

Meanwhile, Kings XI Punjab owner Ness Wadia openly backed the High Court’s decision saying, 

“Maharashtra has been under drought. It is a serious issue. I am very happy that we are looking after our fellow Maharashtrians. I am also from Mumbai.”
