Well balanced KXIP to begin their IPL training camp tomorrow in Mohali

THE KINGS XI PUNJAB are yet to win the coveted IPL title and the given that the prestigious tournament is just a week away, the Indian cricketers in the Punjab team will start their training camp from tomorrow in Mohali. National cricketers in Murali Vijay, Wriddhiman Saha, Rishi Dhawan, Gurkeerat Mann, Mohit Sharma and Akshar Patel will all be a part of the camp.

Punjab’s head coach Sanjay Bangar too will be part of the camp and will oversee the proceedings in Mohali. Speaking to IANS, the former Indian Test opener said,

“We are really excited to begin the cricket camp for IPL 9. We have a well-balanced team, with a good mix of experience and youth and the entire coaching staff is looking forward to working with the team. During the camp, we will be focusing on building team synergy and identifying areas that need minor tweaks before the tournament begins. The retention of Virender Sehwag as mentor will be very beneficial for us as well.”

The Kings XI struggled in the previous edition of the IPL and eventually finished at the bottom of the table. For the upcoming season, the Preity Zinta and Ness Wadia co-owned team have roped in South African batsman David Miller as the skipper and it will be interesting to see how the devastating goes about the business.

KXIP will kick-start their campaign on the against the Gujarat Lions in Chandigarh.
