Nehra’s comeback has motivated me to train hard for the IPL: Zaheer Khan

INDIAN PACER ASHISH NEHRA has been on song ever since his return to the Indian team after five long years. Currently, the left-arm pacer has become the leader of the pace attack and has certainly made life difficult for the opening batsmen.

After watching Nehra’s resurgence, his former partner in crime Zaheer Khan expressed his views on how motivated he feels watching his friend on the field of play.

As reported by PTI, Zaheer said,

“I should take some tips from Nehra on how to survive for so long. It’s not easy to comeback at this stage in the career and he’s doing well which is amazing. He has motivated me to train. I got hope to train for IPL"

Zaheer who announced his retirement last October after playing 92 Tests and 200 ODIs for India had a total tally of 610 international wickets against his name.

The host asked Sehwag, who was also present at the event clarified on why Zaheer was credited with the title of "Gyaan Baba” in the Indian dressing room.

Explain his nickname, the former Indian pacer added,

“There’s no particular reason for me being called ‘Gyan Baba’. I think it just somehow started like that. Maybe I can’t stop myself but going up to bowlers and always giving them advice, that’s how it came into existence I think.”
