SIXERMAN DHONI: A look back at some of the swashbuckler's signature finishes

INDIA’S LIMITED OVERS CAPTAIN MS DHONI entered the international scene as a big-hitter of a cricket ball and very quickly earned the reputation of clearing the boundary ropes at will. From the time Dhoni hammered Pakistan with a swashbuckling 148, cricket fans all over the world waited in anticipation for Dhoni’s towering sixes. 

Over the years, Dhoni also made finishing matches with a six a habit and such courage and success drew enormous amount of fan following for the match-winner. A few years back, Dhoni also invented the helicopter shot and further enthralled the cricket lovers worldwide. 

Given Dhoni’s ability to deposit balls into the stands, many experts and fans believed that he would go on to break many records in this category. And, that is precisely what Dhoni did a few days back against Sri Lanka. The 34 year old became the first and only captain in international cricket to smash 200 sixes. 

Currently, Dhoni is head and shoulders ahead of everybody and he has also made his intentions clear about carrying on with the game for a few more years. Considering this, a 300 mark shouldn’t be too far away for the ‘sixerman’ Dhoni.
