TFG Fantasy Pundit: Keep an eye on the weather while picking team for T20 Asia Cup between SRI & UAE

TO ALL YOU Fantasy Cricket Addicts out there...

We at The Fan Garage have launched our own Fantasy cricket helpline -- TFG Fantasy Pundit.

The experts from our editorial team will guide you to pick the best fantasy team and assist you in your quest to emerge victorious.

Here’s our fantasy pundit column for UAE v SRI game.

OVERVIEW

UAE and Sri Lanka will lock horns in the second game of the T20 Asia Cup at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur.

In this match, the Lankans are likely to have the upper hand over the minnows and that is a clear indication that one should draft in some key players from the Lankan camp.

As far as team UAE go, checking their scorecard from the qualifying games will help you decide on the playing 11. The weather in Dhaka is acting funny, do keep an eye on it.

Here’s the probable 11 that could take to the field tomorrow:

SRI LANKA: Tillakaratne Dilshan, Dasun Shanaka, Dinesh Chandimal, Angelo Mathews, Milinda Siriwardena, Shehan Jayasuriya, Thissara Perera, Chamara Kapugedara, Dusmantha Chameera, Sachitra Senanayake, Lasith Malinga

UAE: Rohan Mustafa, Kaleem Ahmed, Shaiman Anwar, Mohammad Shehzad, Mohammad Usman, Ahmed Javed, Swapnil Patil, Saqlain Haider, Ahmed Raza, Farhan Ahmed, Mohammad Naveed

Players who cannot be ignored for this round

Dinesh Chandimal – The Lankan keeper is a cheeky cricketer. With a wobbly top-order, he is likely to bat up the order and loves playing the spinners. His keeping skills too will generate crucial fantasy league points.
Rohan Mustafa – He has enjoyed opening the batting in the qualifiers and was also amongst the wickets at regular intervals. Handy fantasy pick.
T Dilshan – He was visibly struggling against the Indians recently, but the dashing opener can take the game away from the opposition in a jiffy. He will fancy the UAE attack.
Lasith Malinga – The Lankan skipper might be making a comeback to international cricket after a while, but one can almost bet on his accuracy as far as the yorkers go. He is sure to take wickets.

Dark Horses for the round

Mohammad Shahzad – This UAE cricketer is coming off a successful run with both bat and ball in the qualifying stages for the Asia Cup. He might be a floater in the batting order, but expect some handy fantasy points from both bat and ball.
Dushmantha Chameera – We all saw this lanky bowler operated successfully in the recently concluded Ind-Sri series. He has pace and can also surprise the batsmen with his bounce.

TFG Pundit 11: Dilshan(C), Shanaka, Chandimal, Anwar, M Shahzad, M Siriwardena, R Mustafa, Malinga(VC), Herath, Chameera, Naveed

TFG FANTASY PUNDIT UPDATE: Initially, we had included Herath in our probable 11, but looking at yesterday's wicket and conditions at the ground, we feel the spinner might be left out, so we are replacing Senanayake in his place. We also have picked R Mustafa as our vice-cap who has been enjoying his dream run with bat and ball lately.

UPDATED TFG Pundit 11: Dilshan(C), Shanaka, Chandimal, Anwar, M Shahzad, M Siriwardena, R Mustafa(VC), Malinga, Senanayake, Chameera, Naveed

NOTE: The budget for this round shouldn’t be a matter of concern. The Lankans might just dominate the UAE team and it makes perfect sense to pick majority of Lankan cricketers in your fantasy teams.

Happy Hunting!!!
