Saina pulls out of the Badminton Asia Championship due to injury
WORLD NO. 2 SAINA NEHWAL has pulled out of Badminton Asia Team Championships which begins today at the Gachibowli stadium in Hyderabad. Nehwal withdrew citing an injury that also prevented her from participating at the India Grand Prix Gold, South Asian Games and the Thailand GPG.
"Saina pulled out long ago, somewhere end of January. She took exemption from the Lucknow Open, South Asian Games and this tournament (Badminton Asia) starting in Hyderabad from Monday," Saina's father Harvir Singh told PTI.
India's leading shuttler had conversed with the Badminton Association of India (BAI) that she would soon recover as the rest is helping in healing the injury.
Her father further added that Saina is recovering and would be playing in the All England Championships.
