Shami ruled out with injury, B Kumar drafted in as replacement for Australia tour

INDIAN SEAMER MOHAMMAD SHAMI has been ruled out the upcoming ODI series in Australia due to injury. 

Shami who returned to the squad after a long break has again injured his hamstring and that is likely to keep him out from action for about four to six weeks more. 

Bhuvaneshwar Kumar has been named as Shami’s replacement and will join the squad tomorrow. 
 

Shami, who returned to the national side after a gap of eight months following a knee injury, was named in the India squad for the tour which includes five One-Day Internationals (ODI), starting January 12 in Perth, followed by three Twenty20 Internationals.

Shami bowled 18 overs and bagged three wickets for Bengal from two matches in the domestic one-day tournament Vijay Hazare Trophy after returning from injury recently.

The 25-year-old suffered another injury during India's Twenty20 warm-up match against Western Australia XI here on Friday. Shami, did not bowl in India's 74-run victory in the tour game, as he hurt his hamstring in training.
