IPL very popular, will continue connecting it with fans despite controversies: Sony Six
PRASANNA KRISHNAN, Business Head of sports entertainment channel Sony Six on Sunday said that the channel will continue to connect the IPL with fans, despite all the controversies surrounding the league.
Krishnan, who was in Bengaluru for the announcement of the Sony Six-TNA Wrestling tie-up, interacted with the media, where he spoke about his plans to diversify his sports interests.
When asked whether Sony Six would go ahead with their investments in the cash-rich Indian Premier League, Krishnan said he would be looking to connect the league with the people, especially after last year's edition turned out to be the highest-rated IPL in the last five years.
Krishnan also said that the IPL is an extremely popular product with the fans, which means that as a broadcaster, his job is to connect it with the fans. Though, there are problems and controversies surrounding the league, which are being taken care of by the Board and the Supreme Court.
