SOUTH AFRICA SUFFERED a major blow on Monday, after middle-order batsman JP Duminy was ruled out of the remaining two ODIs against India, owing to a laceration to his right hand in the third ODI at Rajkot.

The official twitter handle of Cricket South Africa confirmed the news. Duminy will miss both one-day internationals slated to be played on October 22 in Chennai and October 25 in Mumbai. Left-hander Dean Elgar has been called to replace injured Duminy.

This is the second injury in the South African camp, with Morne Morkel earlier reporting of a hamstring pulled during the third ODI at Rajkot. The pacer has expressed concern regarding his availability for the remainder ODI series. With Morkel's uncertainty and Duminy out, Team India may just breathe a sigh of relief as both Morkel and Duminy have been vital to South Africa's success. South Africa currently lead the series 2-1, and they will be looking to seal the series on Thursday.
