Kohli-Kumble matter should have been handled professionally: Ganguly

WHILE THE BCCI has called for more applications to choose India's next head coach, former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly has maintained a strong stance on the unceremonious exit of former coach Anil Kumble.

Ganguly has opened up on the issue and speaking to PTI said how the rift between Kohli-Kumble should have been handled better.

The southpaw is one of the members of the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) that has been given the responsibility to pick the next coach for the Indian team.

While the suspense of the new coach still remains, former team director, Ravi Shastri interest to apply for the coach's role has become the sudden talking point of this whole saga.

A year ago, it was Ganguly who was accused by Shastri for not picking him as the coach ahead of Kumble.

Speaking on Shastri's application, 'the Prince of Kolkata' explained to PTI,

"Everybody has got the right to apply. We will find out. I can also apply provided I'm not an administrator."
