After winning the first game, it looked like Srikanth would win the match in straight games but the World No. 1 showed why is he the top shuttler in the men's singles. Son won the second game with ease.
The final game from the beginning was a tightly fought contest as both shuttlers didn't allow each other to lead for a long time. But post interval, Son Wan suddenly won series of points putting Srikanth under immense pressure.
Then with some great smashes, Srikanth found his way back, the scores were levelled several times. At 22-22, Srikanth with two amazing shots clinched the match and sealed a spot in the finals. This is second consecutive SS final after ending as runners-up at Singapore SS and fourth in total.
Awaiting him in the finals is Kazumasa Sakai from Japan. This will be their first encounter against each other.
