Indonesia SSP: Prannoy goes down fighting against Sakai in SF

A GREAT WINNING run comes to an end for HS Prannoy at the Indonesia Super Series Premier semi-finals. He lost to Japanese Kazumasa Sakai in a hard fought three game battle 21-17, 26-28, 18-21.

The Japanese too looked in great shape just like Prannoy as he had trumped Rajiv Ouseph in the quarters. The head-to-head count too favoured him, 1-0. But things were different with the Indian as had unleashed his beast side, defeating Lee Chong Wei and Chen Long one after the other.

The semi-final match was an excruciating one for both the shuttlers. The second game testing both their fitness level. Both pushed each other, showcasing their best out there. It was a crazy match for fans to witness. But at the end of the day, disappointment for the Indian fans as everyone wanted to see Prannoy enter the finals but unfortunately it didn't happen.

Sakai seals a spot in the finals after an amazing display of performance, the final game was completely dominated by the Japanese. It was too late for Prannoy to get back in the match.

But the fans will also be proud of the Indian who after coming from a break showed great courage and his put his best side on display.

The Indian badminton fans can still hope to see their favourite shuttler in the finals as Kidambi Srikanth is yet to play his semi-final match.
