#TFGinterview: The Odds are stacked against Rajinder – In conversation with Amir Khan

ONE CHAMPIONSHIP rolls out Dynasty of Heroes this weekend. The promotion has lined up some mouth-watering fights for the show. One among this list is the showdown between Amir Khan and Rajinder Singh Meena.
Singapore-based Amir comes into the fight on a three-fight winning streak while Rajinder has been having a tough time. But the contrast in momentum is not fooling Amir.
Amir Khan: He will be looking for redemption in this fight, so I’ll expect the best version of him.
Despite this, Amir is sure of one thing: The odds are stacked against his opponent. The four back-to-back losses that Rajinder suffered and the disadvantage of fighting on enemy turf might work against the Indian.
Amir Khan: Rajinder is a good competitor. But he will have a rough night come Friday. He is coming in after back to back losses; the crowd will be against him and I’m technically superior to him. I feel all odds are stack against him for this fight.
And not only this, Amir sees Rajinder as a stepping stone to bigger things. He has his eyes set on the ONE Lightweight championship which is currently held by Eduard Folayang. Folayang recently defeated Ev Ting to keep the title around his waist and Amir sees Ev Ting as a possible opponent for him in the near future.
Amir Khan: My ultimate goal is to have the ONE Lightweight belt. The last guy who fought the champion was Ev Ting, I would like t/o fight him next and then get the title shot after that.
The first hurdle that Amir will have to clear on his mission to win the belt would be Rajinder. And at Dynasty of Heroes, either Amir will continue his winning streak or Rajinder will bounce back and put an end to Amir’s dreams.
ONE Championship: Dynasty of Heroes will take place at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang on May 26, 2017.
