KING XI PUNJAB beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 14-runs in the 49th match of IPL-10, at Mohali.
Chasing a total of 168, the KKR batting unit failed to produce a steady partnership with opener Chris Lynn and succumbed to a third defeat in four games. At one point in the game, Lynn appeared to take KKR home single-handedly. However, a spectacular throw from KXIP all-rounder Axar Patel effected a game-changing run-out to dismiss the Aussie swashbuckler at 84.
Interestingly, it wasn’t the only major contribution from Patel, while fielding in the outfield. Earlier in the game, the 23-year-old had picked an outstanding catch to remove Robin Uthappa.
