Amla, ABD and Miller fly back home to prepare for Champions Trophy

HASHIM AMLA, AB de Villiers and David Miller will not feature in any of the remaining IPL 10 games as the South African trio have left the cash-rich tournament to be a part of the national side that is set to play three-match ODI series against England, starting May 24.

The South African team is also scheduled to play two practice matches on May 19 and 21. While ABD’s absence won’t affect the fate of Royal Challengers Bangalore, who are already out of contention for the play-offs, Kings XI Punjab will hope their chances are not affected by the absence of Amla and Miller.

Amla, who had featured in 10 games, had scored 420, which included two centuries and three fifties. The top-order batsman’s surprise performances provided a huge boost for the KXIP batting line-up. On the other hand, Miller produced a subdued performance in IPL 10. Batting in five matches, the southpaw managed just 83 runs at a strike rate of 100.

Apart from the aforementioned players, Faf du Plesis and Imran Tahir, who play for Rising Pune Supergiant will also have to leave for South Africa.
