We have been treating every game as a knockout match, says Warner

FOLLOWING SUNRISERS HYDERABAD’S seven wicket win over table-leaders Mumbai Indians, skipper David Warner credited his side’s all-round impressive performance.

The Hyderabad franchise restricted MI to 138 and chased the target in just 18.2 overs to claim their seventh win in 13 games. Warner showered praise on his teammates for properly executing the strategy.

“It did go to plan. Credit to the bowlers, they bowled well with the pace a bit on the slower side. Rashid Khan, Nabi and Bhuvi finished it off for us. Dhawan then took us home along with Moises. We thought we could shut out one side of the ground with the big boundaries and that is why we got Nabi on to bowl early. We built pressure, did not let them set in and fortunately got a quick ones in the bag.”

SRH are left with just one league stage match and a victory in that game will secure a berth in the top four. Talking about their match against Gujarat Lions on May 13, the Aussie opener said,

“We have to win the next game, last year we had to win three in a row to qualify. We are treating each one as a knockout and are looking forward to the next.”
