Indian shuttlers end their campaign in the QF of Thailand IC

THE STALWARTS have few weeks to their name where they can rest, train and get back on court for their action only towards the end of this month.

Meanwhile, the juniors played at the Smiling Fish International Challenge and ended their campaign in the quarter-finals.

It was only the men's singles shuttlers who went beyond the first round of the tournament while others were ousted in the opening rounds.

Mithun Manjunath and second seed Subhankar Dey played till the quarters and unfortunately were defeated by 7th seed Indonesian Fikri Ihsandi Hadmadi and 5th seed Thai Pannawit Thongnuam.

The other shuttlers who participated were Siddharth Thakur, 8th seed Anand Pawar, 4th seed Abhishek Yelegar, 6th seed Aditya Joshi, Rohit Yadav lost in the second round while Lakshya Sen and Hemanth Gowda were defeated in the pre-quarters.

Second seed Rituparna Das, Rasika Raje, 8th seed Saili Rane, Aakarshi Kashyap, Krishna Priya and Ira Sharma were defeated in the opening round of the women's singles category. Same was the case with men's doubles duo of Rohan Kapoor/Kuhoo Garg.
