Pandya brothers may feature in TNPL draft as outstation stars

LAST YEAR, the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) hosted the inaugural season of Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL). Despite the TNCA requesting the BCCI to allow participation of registered outstation players, the Indian cricket board turned down the state association’s proposal in the debut season.

However, the second edition of the TNPL is set to kick-off in July this year and a top source in TNCA has divulged that the outstation cricketers "can register" themselves for the player TNPL draft, which is likely to be held in the second week of June. As reported by TOI, a source working close to the development stated,

"We are opening the registrations for the draft from May 6. Though TNCA registered outstation players didn't feature last time, they can register for the TNPL draft and we will include them in the list. We are figuring out on how to go about it."

Some of the famous names who have registered with the TNCA and are likely to feature in the draft are Pandya brothers, Piyush Chawla, Sandeep Sharma, Basil Thampi. It is learnt that new players as well as the ones released by the franchises will be permitted to register themselves for the draft.
