TFG Fantasy Pundit: Fantasy cricket tips for England v Ireland first ODI

Overview

It is early summer in the UK and England will kick start their long season against Ireland in the two-match ODI series. This game will be played at Bristol where the weather is not expected to interrupt the game. Remember, a few key players (Stokes, Woakes & Butler) won't be available as they are busy playing in the IPL. However, Billings and Roy have returned and should feature in the opening ODI. For this game, we would recommend you picking more English players as we expect the inexperienced Irish line-up to struggle.

Probable 11

ENG- Hales, Roy, Root, Morgan, Billings, Ali, Plunkett, Rashid, Willey, Wood, Finn/Ball

IRE- Porterfield, Stirling, Joyce, K O'brien, Wilson, N O'brien, Balbernie/McBrine, S Thompson, Murtagh, Dockrell, Chase/McCarthy

Players who cannot be missed

Root- He is arguably England's best batsman and loves scoring fast regardless of the format. Playing without him will be a huge risk.

Willey- Has the pace and will get the new ball to swing around which can create problems for Ireland top-order.

K O'Brien- A genuine all-rounder in the Irish line-up. Will give you points with both bat and ball.

Hales- Always a dangerous customer opening the innings. Remember, he got 110 in his last ODI (vs Windies in Barbados). Can get quick runs with the willow against the inexperienced Irish bowling.
