What Aizawl FC need to do to play the AFC Champions League from their own stadium

ALL CHAMPIONS OF THE COUNTRY'S NATIONAL LEAGUE enter into the AFC Champions League qualifying playoffs.

Every club that plays in the AFC Champions League competition must fulfill the regulations set by AFC. The AFC mandate covers things from the head coach holding at least a valid AFC ‘A’ Certificate to the infrastructure, from minimum number of player contracts to other legal criteria.

Clubs in India, begin work to get the club AFC licenced only when they become eligible to play continental competitions. Bengaluru FC only got themselves AFC licenced only last year .

Aizawl FC have until August or September this year to get the AFC licencing done to be eligible to play from their own stadium else they would be forced to play from other stadia which are AFC licenced. But considering the fans that have followed the club everywhere in India they would love to play to their home games in their town at the Rajiv Gandhi stadium.

But as the Mizoram government announced after their I-League victory, that they will leave no stone unturned to see to it that Aizawl FC are playing in the AFC Champions League at their own home stadium. The government, who has already done a lot to uplift the sport in the state of Mizoram, have shown that efforts do bear fruit with the success of Aizawl FC.
