Our main aim is to play in Federation Cup says CCFC coach Soundarajan

CHENNAI CITY FC take on Mumbai FC at the latter’s home ground Cooperage on Sunday night. They are high on confidence after winning against Minerva Punjab while Mumbai are currently struggling in form.

At the pre-match press conference held in Mumbai, Soundarajan said,

“We would love to take those three points or a draw against Mumbai tomorrow. Our main focus is to play in the Federation Cup, so we are slowly improving and that keeps our hopes alive.”

Chennai are placed at 7th with 16 points. They are showing signs of improvement since the change of their head coach.

Medio Darren Caldeira was present at the conference too. The former Mumbai FC player was asked if playing on the artificial turf is difficult to which he replied,

“Well, not really. Because while travelling we need to get accustomed to the situations so that wouldn’t be a problem.”

He is also happy with the increase in the fan following for Chennai.

“I’ve noticed that our fan-following is increasing every match which is good for us and the team. But unfortunately we don’t have any more home matches.”
