Mumbai FC vs Churchill Brothers: Periera's work not yet done; Bruzon's biggest test begins

BOTH THESE TEAMS ARE AT SIMILAR FATE at the moment. Mumbai FC currently the worst team in all aspects. They are bottom most in the table, behind Minerva Punjab by two points, worst goal difference with minus 15, worst form in the last 5 games, far from being safe from relegation and the reason that tops it all is if do not have time of their side.
Churchill Brothers sit in 6th place with 16 points. So, even though Churchill are way ahead of Mumbai FC in the points table, the similar fate comes from the fact that if they do not continue their momentum there is a risk of slipping into the dreaded red zone. The reason being, DSK Shivajians, Minerva Punjab FC and Chennai City, the teams that lie in between Churchill Brothers and Mumbai FC, are excempt from relegation.

For Mumbai FC the arithmetic is clear, every game is do or die and it the countdown whether or not Mumbai FC are relegated for the first time since their entry in the I-League begins tomorrow ar 7:05 pm. Oscar Bruzon has been brought in to do a very tough job with four games remaining. What is in Mumbai FC and Bruzon's favour is the international break of about a month to recuperate for the psychological damages suffered in one of the most difficult seasons for the team.

For Churchill Brothers, they have had a change in head coach mid season. Derick Periera was the change Churchill got to usher in the flurry of change of fortunes for the Goan club. The club that was friends with Mumbai FC at the bottom of the table for a long time suddenly started playing with a whole new vigour and determination. Periera changed the defence a bit, lay more importance to the wing back pushing up the flanks and the midfield was looking more organised playing well with the flanks and forward line. Not just better performances, Churchill has started pick up wins consistently, even toppling teams like East Bengal, Mohun Bagan and DSK Shivajians. It is this momentum that has become the strength of team to get them out the relegation zone.
But Periera's work is not yet done and Bruzon's work is yet to begin. If Churchill are able beat Mumbai, they move to 19 points and Mumbai are almost done for the I-league. Churchill have a statement to make to the I-League that kept them out for two years and want to show to the nation what I-League was missing when they were ousted.
