Sindhu betters her world ranking, reaches career best of No. 2

PV SINDHU has reached her career best ranking of No. 2 and this has come after she was crowned the India Superseries champion. On her way to clinch the title, she defeated compatriot Saina Nehwal, Sung Ji Hyun and finally Carolina Marin.

With this, she has bettered her own record of being No. 5. She failed to create her magic at the ongoing Malaysia Superseries Premier where she was defeated in the first round.

But with her smashing shots and consistency in being the top shuttler, this is only the beginning for the 21-year-old.

Now she will have to work even harder to hold onto her position as her aim is to being ranked No. 3 by the end of this year. And if she still manages to No. 2 or even the top spot, then it definitely would be an icing on the cake for the young shuttler.

Meanwhile Saina Nehwal has dropped to one position to No. 9.

It's also a good news for the women's doubles as Poorvisha Ram/Meghana are ranked No. 33 while young pair Sanjana Santosh/Aarthi Sunil are ranked No. 33 and the newly paired up duo of Ashwini Ponnappa/Sikki Reddy are at No. 41.

Men's singles shuttlers, Ajay Jayaram is ranked No. 20, Prannoy No. 26, Sameer Verma is No. 27, Kidambi Srikanth at no. 28, Sai Praneeth at 32 and Sourabh Verma at 41 respectively.

Men's doubles pair Manu Atrri/Sumeeth Reddy have gone down to No. 25.
