Bengaluru is likely to host India's home games in Asian Cup Qualifiers

INDIA KICK STARTED THEIR ASIAN CUP QUALIFYING CAMPAIGN WITH A WIN against Myanmar. India's next game is June 13 against Kyrgyzstan. The venue of the this fixture is hihgly likely to be the Kanteerava stadium in Bengaluru. This is because the mandate by the AFC requires the host stadium to be having a set some of bucket seats and also a steady attendance history. Bengaluru certainly fulfills both these criteria easily as the Kanteerava is one of the popular staiduim in the country with the needed requirements.
The other eligible and popular venues in India would remain unavaliable due to the upcoming FIFA U-17 World Cup preparations that will run from October 6 to October 28. India's home fixtures in the group stage in 2017 are below

  • 13th June - India v/s Kyrgyzstan
  • 10th October - India v/s Macau
  • 14th November - India v/s Myanmar
Bengaluru's Kanteerva to hold India's Asian Cup qualifier matches

India's next opponent is Kyrgyzstan, who had been ahead seven places ahead of India, have now fallen behind India to now rank 128 in the latest FIFA ranking. Although, there is no official announcement confirming Bengaluru but our analysis says this is likely going to hold true.

Kyrgyzstan Coach, after the win against in their opening game against Macau had this to say after the game,

"I haven’t watched the other teams’ game in our group, but I know India won over Myanmar. We will play against India in the second round. We are favourites. This is why Kyrgyz Republic will try to win that game too."
