Khabib Nurmagomedov comments on retirement rumors

KHABIB NURMAGOMEDOV was the centre of focus of a string of speculations in the MMA community recently. The Russian, who had to pull out of his fight with Tony Ferguson, received a lot of criticism and there were even rumors that suggested his potential retirement.

Khabib, however, has broken his silence regarding the issue and confirmed that nobody is trying to make him retire.

“Nobody is trying (to get me to retire),” Nurmagomedov said Monday on The MMA Hour. “I know my father talked about this with Russian media, and U.S. media make, like, different translation. But how I retire if I have to fight for the title? Now, I have very big name, and now, a lot of big fights are coming. How I retire? I no understand, who talk about this?” he said.

Khabib also said that he is expected to make his return by September.
