WWE WrestleMania 33 results: New champions, huge return and potential retirement
WRESTLEMANIA 33 was a memorable show as it was expected to be. As the biggest WWE show of the year, the expectation levels were sky high and it would be safe to say that the show that WWE produce exceeded these.
The Hardys return
The Hardy Boys finally made their huge return to WWE. The Broken Gimmick that the brothers are known for wasn’t there to be seen but seeing the Hardys return to where they started was a great WrestleMania moment. Not only did they return, the brothers went on to win the WWE Raw Tag Team championships as well.
John Cena proposes
The love story of John Cena and Nikki Bella reached a turning point when the Cenation leader proposed Nikki. The couple was successful in overcoming the challenge posed by Maryse and Miz on Sunday Night and the proposal segment which followed the match was a magical one.
New champions
Kevin Owens was crowned the new United States champion thanks to his win over Chris Jericho. Jericho was one of many champions that dropped their title on Sunday night. Alexa Bliss was another one. She lost her title to Naomi, who won the Six-pack challenge to capture the SmackDown Women’s title.
Lesnar avenges his loss
Brock Lesnar came up with a very strong performance at WrestleMania and defeated Goldberg. Lesnar delivered a string of German suplexes to Goldberg before coming up with an F-5 to close the match. With the win, Lesnar became the New Universal champion and his run with the title is bound to be interesting.
End of the Road for Undertaker?
The WrestleMania 33 match with Roman Reigns seemed like the retirement match of Undertaker. After suffering a loss at the hands of Reigns, Undertaker walked away leaving his gear in the middle of the ring and left the fans with a lot of questions on their mind.
