Sindhu crushes Marin in straight games to lift her first India SS title

PV SINDHU gave the fans at Siri Fort Stadium in New Delhi what they came for, a well deserved straight game victory over Spaniard Carolina Marin, 21-19, 21-16.

As expected it was a closely contested game from the word go. Both the shuttlers put up a great fight and the fans witnessing it too had a great time.

They got to witness yet another repeat of the Olympic final showdown. This was Sindhu's first India SS final and she showed great class once again.

Marin didn't make it easy for the Indian but the latter fought hard to take the first game to her name.

The start of the second game was controlled by Sindhu from the very first point. But the Spaniard kept hitting back which made Sindhu's smashes and shots even stronger.

It also the added the extra fury to this match, knowing that two of the best shuttlers were on court fighting for the coveted Superseries title. Few unforced errors from Marin put Sindhu in a comfortable position as the latter enjoyed a four point advantage at the interval.

After the interval, Sindhu's smashes kept coming and helped her win a series of points. It was no stopping her, Marin tried her best but it was just too late. This match saw great improvement from the Indian who worked immensely on her net shots.

Her victory was the proof of the same. This win will also boost her rankings, we'll know for sure once the BWF rankings are disclosed come this Thursday.
