Sindhu smashes her way into the SF of India SS after defeating Saina in straight games

PV SINDHU triumphs over compatriot Saina Nehwal in an emphatic fashion to seal a spot in the semi-finals of India Superseries held in New Delhi. The World No. 5 trumped Saina in straight games 21-16, 22-20.

A neck-to-neck start from both the shuttlers in the first game but after the interval, Sindhu was in full swing and looked in a hurry as she gathered maximum points in her favour winning it 21-16.

Silly errors and some misjudged shots is what costed Saina the game but she corrected them in the second. She looked much better in the second game as she was leading for most of the time and after interval she looked in great control. The fans cheering louder and louder equally for both the shuttlers pumped both the girls up.

Some amazing body smashes from Saina saw her winning a series of points. She was leading 19-16 and it looked like this match is heading into a decider but that's when some gritty shots and smashes from Sindhu got her back as she levelled it twice, first at 19-19 and then 20-20.

Then a smash and first service error from Saina was all it took Sindhu to cross over the quarter-final hurdle and register a win over her comapatriot.

This levelled the head-to-head count between the two, 1-1. The third seed Sindhu will now take on 2nd seed Sung Ji Hyun in the semis on Saturday.
